The Nam Hai, Hoi An

Recently incorporated into the Four Season's collection of luxurious beach resorts in Asia, the Nam Hai is one of our favourite properties near one of South East Asia's best preserved UNESCO heritage sites.

This has to be one of the best properties in Central Vietnam and delivers everything you expect from a Four Seasons beach resort (the Nam Hai was acquired by the group last year).

Beware this review will contain a lot of superlatives; this place is nothing short of outstanding!

From the impeccable maintenance, to the pristine beaches where any debris is removed the second it makes landfall, this is a truly gorgeous resort and one of the best places from which to explore the UNESCO World Heritage town of Hoi An.

The property has a divine beachfront location, with gorgeous ocean views from many of the villas.

The staff are absolutely on point; they are the kind of people that pick up fallen cutlery before it even touches the floor. Its always a good sign when many of a hotel’s workers have been there many years, and they have their work down to a fine art form when it comes to addressing each guest by their name, suggesting activities to do or entertaining the children.

Bikes are available for use outside the resort, which is a lovely way to get around the town. They also have a great selection of activities including yoga, walks, cooking and mindfulness evening sessions on the beach. Oh and don’t miss the spa… heaven.

The hotel offers a 15 minute shuttle bus to the township of Hoi An, which is truly one of the region’s best preserved ancient towns. All the buildings stand in their original glory, and house so many great little boutiques, traditional Vietnamese restaurants and interesting tradesmen selling their wares. Little rivers run through the town with small bridges and a maze of back alleys – stepping into Hoi An genuinely feels like stepping back in time.

Hoi An is a place to be experienced, and if you’re looking for luxury The Nam Hai is the only place to stay.
