Love love love this kitsch new space at Dempsey by Tiong Bahru Bakery.
Located in the former digs of Open Farm Community’s more casual outdoor cafe, the Spa Esprit Group have really knocked it out of the park this time with this huge glamping style concept. The once vine-covered deck has now been transformed into a huge safari tent which, combined with overhead fans, makes the whole space so much more cool and comfortable than before. This may be camping but you aren’t roughing it – inside there are a number of individual “lounge rooms”, furnished with comfortable couces, rugs on the floor, lamps and other gorgeous touches.
On offer are all the usual Tiong Bahru pastries we are quite honestly obsessed with (the Kouign Aman is my favourite). And of course its the same excellent coffee by Common Man Coffee Roasters, found these days at any great Singapore cafe worth their salt!
This spot is quiet and peaceful weekeday mornings, opening early at 8am. Weekends it gets crazy busy with families so definitely get down there with the birds.
PS. This is a fab spot for little ones, with the deck boasting table tennis, a sandpit to the side and loads of space to run around.
