World-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s legendary involvement in every aspect of his restaurants – concept, menu, architectural design, staff selection and training – shows through in his most recent venture at Dempsey.
Signature elements like an open kitchen elevates the cooking process into a performing art, while communal dining makes the experience more familial and relaxed.
The bar is the standout feature, pooling beneath the high ceilings and lush indoor foliage, and puts the bartenders on show. The drinks are good – really good – the list is lengthy and they certainly aren’t shy with the spirits.
The fare is fusion French-Asian, and its done well. The sharing plates are perfect for a low-key night, catching up with friends. We loved the black truffle and fontina cheese pizza and crab cakes, and you can’t go past the Veal Milanese or Cheeseburger with Brie and Black Truffle Mayonnaise in the mains department.
Dempsey Cookhouse also do a great weekend brunch, complete with Spritz, Bellinis and Mimosas.
