Cheek By Jowl

One of our best dining experiences of late. This one Michelin star, super slick, mod-Oz haunt in pumping little Boon Tat is receiving rave reviews all over town.

A year into operation and already awarded one Michelin star, this is a solid choice for a superbly executed dining experience with an intimate feel.

Husband-and-wife team Rishi Naleendra and Manuela Toniolo opened the space in 2016, naming it in hommage to their “cheek by jowl” (ie. “side by side”) partnership. And there’s definitely some cosy homely vibes going on here – a super chic, perfectly executed space with divine food and wine, friendly smiles and cosy feels where you just want to stay and chat all night long… oh sorry did we digress?

Back to the restaurant. Naleendra trained in Melbourne, and there’s definitely a touch of the city about this place. Dishes are experimental yet finely executed, exercising that perfect balance of restraint only top chefs can do.

We highly recommend the tasting menu – not one dish goes amiss. The Cheese Bread with Aged Comte is to die for, as is the Arctic Char and Zucchini Flowers.

This is the perfect venue for any meal to impress; business lunch or an intimate date.
