Bearded Bella

Hidden away in the back streets of Tanjong Pagar is this sweet little Melbourne-inspired cafe, with a subtle tropical twist. Gorgeous instagrammable interiors, good coffee, and the food tastes as good as it looks!

This is a true little gem in an inner-city neighbourhood that is packed with them. Its hard to find from the street, with no signage other than a sweet bicycle parked with a basket full of blooms. Step through the gates and you come across a pleasant courtyard, perfect for an early morning coffee in the shade.

The indoor space is bright and fresh, with loads of natural light through the overhead skylight. The interiors are that gorgeous clean and minimalist feel, with brass lighting and pastel touches.

Coffee is serious business here. Beware the 3oz is tiny (good for a small pick me up) – the 5 oz is your normal flat white and the 8 oz is pretty large (very un-Melbourne).

We highly recommend the chia pudding for a light breakfast, or the smashed avocado with toasted nuts and seeds, sweet potato crisps, feta and pomegranate if you’re after something a little more filling to start your day.

They also have a gorgeous sweets menu, perfect for an afternoon indulgence. The donut sliders with crushed Tim Tams are a direct line to any Melbourne girl’s heart, while the sticky date pudding is a strong competitor!

This is a perfect spot for quiet business coffee or breakfast with a friend.
